I haven’t been to too many lounges while travelling. Mainly because they’re usually only offered to business or first class passengers and very specific airlines. Luckily I was offered a free voucher to try out the lounge!
Plaza Premium Lounge is slightly different. They actually do a pay by usage and it’s not bad for what you get. At all price points you can use any of their facilities. Starts at $30 for 2 hours, $45 for 3, and $65 for 6 hours. You can check out the kind of seating they have available down below in the gallery. Aside from lounging, there’s basically an all you can eat buffet of salads, snacks, desserts, drinks (alcoholic), soups, and other foods like, pasta, rice, and noodles. Probably the most handy amenity they have is the shower room. If you’re in Toronto for a long layover it comes in really handy.
I did try a bunch of the food but unfortunately only took a photo of the chicken. That one was really good. The salad selection was really nice too but probably not for the super healthy people. It does have a lot of sauce on it. The Hong Kong style fish ball noodles was really good. It’s basically a plain noodle soup and you add all your own spices and seasoning.
The service overall at the lounge is really good. The place is relatively new so I can’t really say anything was all that terrible. There’s daily newspapers available for those who want to read. Tons of TV all over the lounge so you can watch whatever while you wait for your flight. All of the seating is comfortable, even the patio like chairs that you can lie down on are really nice. The only thing I would’ve liked, is probably more outlets around the dining area. It’s probably the most comfortable spot to use a laptop but I found myself having to head over to the lounge area or the business desks to find a plug. There is one more thing but it is kind of out of their hands. The fact that I was travelling alone meant I had to be responsible for my own bags. Having to lug my carry-on with me to the washroom was kind of a hassle; this also means your bags go with you to the shower room. If I had been travelling with someone it would not have been so troublesome but maybe Plaza could offer locker services in the future for solo travellers.
